Greece has announced a 22-player roster for the first phase of preparations ahead of the 2026 European Women’s Water Polo Championship, which will take place from 26 January to 5 February in Funchal, Portugal.
Head coach Haris Pavlidis has retained the core of the team that won the 2025 World Championship in Singapore, while also bringing in several emerging players from Greece’s leading domestic clubs. Greece approach the continental tournament as reigning world champions, continuing a period of consistent success on the international stage.
Greece’s record in major competitions underscores their status as contenders. The national team has reached the podium multiple times at the European Championships, including silver medals in 2010, 2018 and 2022, and bronze in 2024. The Greeks are currently the reigning World Champions.
