Jadran Herceg Novi’s summer recruitment drive shows no signs of slowing down, with Spanish international Fran Valera now strongly linked to the Montenegrin side.
The 25-year-old, a regular in David Martín’s national team, is reportedly seeking a new challenge. Jadran, eager to strengthen their squad ahead of a big European push, are believed to be in discussions with the player.
Valera brings a strong pedigree. He won the 2022 Euro Cup with Sabadell, earned bronze at the 2024 World Championships in Doha, and helped Spain claim gold at the European Championships in Zagreb earlier this year. A product of CN Barcelona’s youth system, Valera has also played abroad for Neptunes WPSC in Malta, gaining valuable international experience.
If the move goes through, Valera would become the latest addition in what looks to be a major overhaul at Jadran. The club is also reportedly in talks to bring back Daniil Merkulov (read more) and Vladan Spaic (read more), two signings that would underline Herceg Novi’s serious intent for the 2025–26 season.
