Jadran Split, Radnicki, Marseille and BVSC reach Euro Cup semi-finals

Radnicki, Marseille, BVSC and Jadran Split have booked their places in the Euro Cup semi-finals after a dramatic set of quarter-final second legs.

The standout tie came in Split, where Jadran edged past Panathinaikos in one of the most chaotic and entertaining matches of the season. After a narrow 11:10 away win in Athens, the Croatian side were pushed to the limit at home, eventually securing a 19:19 draw to progress 30:29 on aggregate.

Despite never leading during the match, Jadran showed resilience when it mattered most. Panathinaikos raced into an early 3:0 lead and controlled large spells of the contest, carrying a 17:15 advantage into the final quarter and later moving ahead 19:17, a scoreline that would have sent them through.

But Jadran responded in dramatic fashion. Loren Fatovic sparked the comeback before captain Zvonimir Butic delivered the decisive moments, scoring twice late on—including the equaliser with just ten seconds remaining—to send the home crowd into celebration. Jerko Marinic Kragic led all scorers with seven goals.

In Kragujevac, Radnicki completed the job against Primorac with a 17:15 victory, advancing comfortably thanks to their four-goal win in the first leg.

The Serbian side relied heavily on an outstanding power-play performance, converting 10 of 11 man-up opportunities. Primorac threatened throughout and twice levelled in the fourth quarter, but late goals from experienced duo Andrija Prlainovic and Dusko Pijetlovic sealed the result.

Marseille also progressed after a 14:14 draw away at Sabadell, building on their commanding 17:12 victory in France.

The Spanish side never truly threatened the aggregate deficit, despite briefly leading during the match. A key moment came midway through the final quarter when Konstantin Averka was excluded for a violent foul, leaving Sabadell a player down for the remainder of the game. Ugo Crousillat capitalised from the penalty spot and finished as the game’s top scorer with five goals, as Marseille closed out the tie.

BVSC completed the semi-final line-up with another convincing performance against Oradea, following up their 14:8 first-leg win with a 12:7 victory away from home.

The Hungarian side took early control and never allowed Oradea back into the contest, extending their lead to five goals early in the second half to effectively end the tie.

Semi-final line-up (April 29 & May 5):
