Barceloneta Wins 13th Consecutive Spanish Cup

Barceloneta secured its 13th consecutive Spanish Cup title in dominant fashion, winning the Final Eight tournament held in their home pool. In the final, they convincingly defeated Sabadell 14:5 to continue their reign.

Sabadell reached the final after two grueling games, defeating Terrassa and Barcelona, both by a score of 12:10. Barceloneta, on the other hand, advanced with big wins, demolishing Mediterrani 22:4 in the quarterfinals and Mataro 17:7 in the semifinals.

The final match started with an early goal from Alvaro Granados, and while Sabadell briefly equalized at 1:1, Barceloneta soon pulled away with a 3:0 run. Sabadell managed to reduce the gap multiple times but never came closer than two goals. A strong finish to the first half saw Barceloneta extend their lead to 8:4. The third quarter was balanced (1:1), but Barceloneta sealed their victory with a 5:0 run in the final period. Sabadell missed five man-up chances, ultimately suffering a heavy defeat.

Bernat Sanahuja was the top scorer of the final with four goals. Granados, Gergely Burian, and Unai Biel netted twice each for Barceloneta, while Kanstantin Averka led Sabadell with two goals.
