CN Marseille have officially announced the signing of Dutch international Bilal Gbadamassi for the 2025–2026 campaign, completing a major coup from Serbian champions Novi Beograd.
The 27-year-old centre-forward, who captains the Netherlands men’s national team, brings a wealth of experience and physicality to the French club. Renowned for his strength, work rate, and leadership, Gbadamassi is widely regarded as one of the top centre-forwards in European water polo. His arrival is expected to significantly strengthen Marseille’s ambitions in both the domestic league and on the European stage.
Gbadamassi was a key figure for Novi Beograd during the 2024–2025 season, helping them reach the final of the Champions League. Prior to his stint in Serbia, he spent two impactful seasons with Spandau 04 Berlin, where he excelled in the Bundesliga and European competitions alike.
His professional journey reflects a steady climb through Europe’s top leagues. After early international appearances at the 2015 and 2017 Junior World Championships, Gbadamassi joined Partizan Belgrade in 2018, spending three seasons in the Serbian capital. He then moved to Hungary, playing under Živko Gocić at Szolnok, before transferring to Spandau.
With this latest move to Marseille, Gbadamassi continues his path as one of the most respected and well-travelled centre-forwards in the game. As captain of the Dutch national team, he remains a cornerstone of the Oranje setup—bringing not only power in the pit, but also a steady presence in the dressing room.
As of today, four additions to Marseille’s roster have been confirmed: Radomir Drasovic (from Novi Beograd), Adam Nagy (Ferencvaros), Lorris Canovas (Strasbourg) and Gbadamassi.
Andrija Prlainovic has moved from Marseille to Radnicki, Daniel Angyal has signed a contract with Olympiacos, while Alessandro Velloto has joined Barceloneta.
