Crucial administrative blunder leaves Posillipo without star signings for new season

Several sources, such as Total Waterpolo and Waterpolo Development, are reporting that CN Posillipo’s upcoming season is in serious jeopardy due to a major administrative oversight.

The club is unable to register three of its top summer signings—Montenegrin Darko Brguljan and Serbians Marko Radulovic and Milos Milicic—after failing to submit the required international transfer certificates (ITC) by the September 30 deadline, as mandated by European Aquatics regulations.

This administrative misstep means that Posillipo cannot register these key players for the upcoming season, leaving their participation in serious doubt. Without the ITCs, Posillipo is not only unable to field Brguljan, Radulovic, and Milicic at the start of the season but may be without them for the entirety of the campaign.

According to Italian and European regulations, without proper registration, the club is barred from including the players in its squad. While European Aquatics does offer a secondary transfer window in January, the Italian Swimming Federation (FIN) regulations prevent new player registrations during the season. Posillipo’s only possible recourse under current rules would be to replace an already-registered foreign player, which presents its own challenges.

The club’s last hope is that European Aquatics might grant a special waiver, allowing the late submission of transfer requests and permitting the registrations in time for the start of the A1 season. However, given the strict application of the regulations, this seems like an unlikely outcome.

With this administrative error, Posillipo’s ambitions for the season may need significant reassessment, as the absence of these three international stars would deal a heavy blow to their competitive aspirations
