Ferencváros, BVSC, and Vasas Keep Pace with Honvéd After Round 6

The 6th round of the Hungarian Men’s Championship saw Ferencváros, BVSC, and Vasas all extend their winning streaks — joining Honvéd at the top of the table on 18 points. Honvéd’s fixture for this round was played a month earlier due to their participation in the Conference Cup this weekend.

Late heroics from Lakatos rescue Vasas in Kaposvár

While Ferencváros and BVSC cruised to victory, Vasas were pushed to the limit by struggling Kaposvár, who sit second-from-bottom in the standings.

The match was evenly contested throughout, with the lead changing hands multiple times. Kaposvár stunned Vasas by taking a 9:7 advantage in the second quarter, but the visitors quickly leveled at 9:9 before halftime.

The home side refused to fade, retaking the lead in the second half and holding a 16:14 cushion with four minutes remaining. However, Vasas captain Soma Lakatos came to the rescue — scoring the final three goals of the game, including the dramatic winner with just 31 seconds left on the clock.

Lakatos finished with five goals, while Kaposvár’s captain Bence Bátori led all scorers with six. Berta and Pellei added three goals each for the hosts.

Ferencváros and BVSC win comfortably

Ferencváros maintained their flawless record with an 18:9 home win over Szentes. Stylianos Argyropoulos struck four times, and Vendel Vigvári added three as FTC once again showcased their attacking depth.

BVSC also impressed, defeating Szeged 20:10 thanks to a four-goal performance from Zsombor Ekler.

Eger rallies late against UVSE

Eger battled back to beat UVSE 11:9 after trailing 6:8 at halftime. The visitors ran out of energy in the final period, allowing Eger to secure the win through a decisive fourth-quarter surge. Rajmund Radli led the hosts with three goals.

Szolnok earned a solid 12:6 victory over OSC Budapest, tightening their grip on fifth place.

Debrecen edged Miskolc 15:14 in a high-scoring encounter, while KSI’s earlier 7:15 defeat to Honvéd keeps them at the foot of the table.
