Natasa Rybanska and Athina Giannopoulou head to CN Sabadell

CN Sabadell confirms the signing of Natasa Rybanska and Athina Giannopoulou.

Following the announcement of several Spanish additions — including Olympic gold medalists Paula Crespi and Isabel Piralkova — the Spanish champions have now confirmed the reinforcement of two world-class international players.

Hungarian national team player Natasa Rybanska joins the Spanish powerhouse after one season with Alimos (Greece). The Olympic bronze medalist described her move as “fulfilling one of my lifelong dreams.” Inspired by the club’s history and achievements, Rybanska expressed her ambition “to grow as a player and as a person, and to contribute to making the legacy of this team and club even greater,” as she stated in an interview with Sabadell. Rybanska, who represented Hungary at both the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, adds international experience, physical presence, and strength to her new team.

Greek Olympian Athina Giannopoulou makes the move from Vouliagmeni NC to the capital of Catalonia. She joins Sabadell after helping her former club secure a historic Greek championship title, ending Olympiacos’ 12-year winning streak in the final. As part of the Greek national team, Giannopoulou won gold at this year’s World Cup. Another historic moment for the 23-year-old was representing her country at the Paris Olympics last year, marking Greece’s return to the women’s tournament after a 16-year absence.

Both new signings are set to represent their respective nations at this year’s World Championships in Singapore.

Prior to the announcements of Rybanska and Giannopoulou, CN Sabadell confirmed the arrival of several Spanish players. Helena Dalmases and Isabel Piralkova join from CN Terrassa, while Daniela Moreno arrives from CN Atlètic-Barceloneta — all bringing high intensity, speed, and goal-scoring ability to the left side.

Additionally, Paula Crespi joins from Champions League and Spanish Cup winners CN Sant Andreu. With her versatility and international experience, Crespi is expected to play a key role for Sabadell in the upcoming season.
