Dinamo Bucharest have confirmed the signing of USA international Nicolas Saveljic.
The 27-year-old attacker moves to Bucharest following his spell with Italian club Telimar Palermo, adding considerable physicality, shooting power and international experience to the Dinamo squad.
Standing at 1.98 metres, Saveljic offers a commanding presence around the perimeter and can contribute at both ends of the pool. He represented the United States at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, scoring eight goals during the tournament, and remains part of the USA senior national-team programme.
Saveljic was born in France and raised in Montenegro before establishing himself as one of the leading players in American collegiate water polo with UCLA.
He enjoyed an outstanding career with the Bruins, winning the Peter J. Cutino Award and being named the 2020 national player of the year. He was also selected as an All-American four times and earned the NCAA Tournament MVP award after helping UCLA claim the national championship.
After leaving the collegiate game, Saveljic returned to Europe and represented clubs including Primorac Kotor, Budva and Telimar. His move to Romania now opens the next chapter of his career as Dinamo look to strengthen their position domestically and make a greater impact in European competition.
