Ferencvaros outlasts OSC; Honved falls to Debrecen

Ferencvaros held off a brave challenge from OSC Budapest to claim a 15–10 win in Round 25 of the Hungarian League — their 25th straight victory this season.

Despite the five-goal margin, the game was much tighter than the score suggests. OSC pushed the European champions harder than most have managed this season, holding them level through three quarters.

Momentum swung back and forth across the first half. Ferencvaros led 5–3 early in the second, but OSC hit back through Baksa Benedek and Balazs Harai to tie the game at 5–5 and 6–6. Szilard Jansik gave Ferencvaros a narrow edge with 23 seconds left in the half, but Benedek levelled again — 7–7 — right on the buzzer.

Benedek continued his fine form after the break, giving OSC an 8–7 lead. Jansik replied from a swift counter, and Simone Rossi converted a powerplay to put OSC back in front, 9–8. But from there, the tide turned.

Gergo Fekete’s equaliser at 9–9 sparked a seven-goal run for Ferencvaros. They blew the game open with a 6–0 final period before OSC added a late consolation. Fekete, Jansik, Krisztian Manhercz, and Vendel Vigvari all played key roles, each notching three goals. Benedek finished with three for OSC.

The result dents OSC’s hopes of reaching the top four and the playoff semifinals. They now sit tied on points with BVSC, who have a game in hand — and a better head-to-head record.

Elsewhere, Szolnok sealed a playoff spot with a 21–13 win over PVSK Pecs. After a 6–6 first half, Szolnok turned on the style, led by a stunning seven-goal haul from Bendeguz Krasznai and five from Bence Szabo.

Honved, fresh from a huge win over OSC last week, were stunned at home by 13th-placed DVSE Debrecen. Patrick Maczi scored three in an 11–9 away win, while Rolf Bencz bagged four for Honved.
