Georgios Doskas takes charge of Olympiacos Women

Olympiacos S.F.P. have appointed Giorgos Doskas as the new head coach of the club’s Women’s Water Polo Team, placing a familiar figure in charge as the season gathers momentum on both the domestic and European fronts.

The 41-year-old Greek coach (born 11 November 1984) has signed his contract and assumes full technical responsibility for the women’s programme, working alongside associate coach Giorgos Foundoulis.

Doskas coached Chios between 2018 and 2022, before leading Patras in the 2023/24 season, and has also been heavily involved in Greece’s national-team pathway, serving as head coach of the Women’s U20 and U18 national teams from September 2024 to December 2025.

He takes over with Olympiacos in a commanding position in the Women’s Champions League, where they sit top of their group with a perfect 12 points after four matches.

Domestically, Olympiacos remain unbeaten after 13 rounds of the Greek Women’s A1 League, leading the standings with 13 wins from 13, a 263–93 goal difference, and a clear gap to their closest challengers.

A former Olympiacos player, Doskas wore the red-and-white cap across two spells (2003–2011 and 2012–2017), winning 12 Greek championships and 11 Greek Cups, and now returns to Piraeus tasked with steering an already dominant side through the decisive phase of the season.
