Whispers around Budapest suggest that Brazilian-Serbian goalkeeper João Pedro Coimbra is close to joining Vasas for the new season.
The experienced shot-stopper has represented Brazil at various levels and recently obtained Serbian citizenship. He has built an impressive career across Europe, playing for clubs such as Barceloneta, Novi Beograd, Partizan, and most recently OSC.
With OSC’s financial troubles well-known, a move this summer always seemed likely. João Pedro’s strong ties to Budapest through his Hungarian partner made staying in the city an obvious choice.
Although no official announcement has been made, sources close to the situation suggest that João Pedro has already agreed terms with Vasas. If confirmed, it would be a major signing for the club as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
Another of OSC’s foreign players, Lars Ten Broek, looks likely to be joining Spanish side Terrassa.
