Andrea Mladossich is officially a new player for Pro Recco. The 22-year-old forward, born on May 3, 2002, joins the Italian champions from Trieste, the club where he developed through the youth ranks and became a regular first-team star. Mladossich, already part of Italy’s senior national team setup, scored an impressive 48 goals in the 2024/25 Serie A1 season, including playoff fixtures.
He has signed a three-year contract with Recco, marking a significant step in his career and his first experience away from his hometown club.
Pro Recco have already signed Alvaro Granados, Max Irving, Rino Buric, Gianmarco Nicosia, Luke Pavillard and Francessco Cassia.
“A dream is coming true,” Mladossich said. “It will be my first time playing away from home, so I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I’m incredibly excited to begin this journey, and at the same time, I feel a great responsibility.”
While finishing his studies in Dental Hygiene at the University of Trieste, Mladossich is preparing for the challenge ahead at Recco, a club known for its demanding standards and relentless pursuit of excellence.
“I’ll definitely have to adapt to the high daily intensity,” he admitted. “But I know I have to improve in every aspect of my game. In Recco, I want to grow as a person and learn from teammates who are the best in the world.”
Mladossich highlighted the chance to train daily with Francesco Di Fulvio—his idol growing up—as a particularly exciting opportunity. He also pointed to his existing friendship with Giacomo Condemi as a promising foundation for building on-pitch chemistry.
“Everyone speaks highly of Coach Sukno—he’s prepared, balanced, and focused on building a team before anything else. He was one of my idols too, and I can’t wait to work with him.”
Earlier this year, Mladossich was named in Settebello’s extended squad for World Cup preparations, though he was forced to withdraw due to a broken rib.
Reflecting on the journey so far, Mladossich reserved special praise for his parents.
“My parents have been the biggest influence. My father Mauro also played water polo—I’m not sure if he’s more proud of this move to Recco or sad that I’m leaving home.”
